Ceremonies Filled with Lessons and Encouragement

Georgetown has more than 2,000 brand new alumni — including the first from the Doha, Qatar campus — after the university’s 210th commencement exercises.
Each of the university’s nine schools, plus the McDonough School of Business’ MBA program, held individual ceremonies to honor their graduates. The Washington campuses celebrated commencement weekend May 16-17, while the School of Foreign Service-Qatar held its inaugural graduation on May 9. Read Full Story.
SFS-Q Grad Highlights Link Between Dunetop, Hilltop
May 14th, 2009, 11:04 pmFour years ago, 25 students from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds became the first class to enter Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service in Doha, Qatar (SFS-Qatar). Lubna Kayyali of Syria was one of those students. Last weekend the international politics major earned her degree along with 20 other students who made up the first graduating class at SFS-Qatar. Georgetown's School of Foreign Service-Qatar graduates its first class.
Doha, Qatar — The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar) marked a milestone in its history on Saturday with the completion of its inaugural commencement exercises. Established in 2005, SFS-Qatar graduated 21 students from 12 different nations.
